The honest answer not that much, there are many benchmark videos on AMD vs Intel and yes intel always wins but not by much usually around 5 fps difference max in most games.

Some games are more cpu intensive then others so it depends on the game.

but... make sure you are looking at the low end of the CPU benchmarks, not the average.  It is the lows that screw up your gaming experience.  Averaging 55FPS then having dips down to 10-20 is not fun.

No need to apologize.  3+ years ago there could be an argument for the cost saving of an AMD build.  Intel just kept getting faster and faster, while AMD did not.

Pretty much where I based my knowledge from, AMD 2010-2012 were dominate in the price/performance market thats why I usually recommended AMD for a budget build.

Yup, in those days, it was true. Then, AMD forgot that it has to launch new stuff, if it wants to compete.

Nowadays, AMD CPUs live off of fanboys, and dudes that don't know about computer parts.

Would most likely be playing Battlefield 4 and the Witcher 3 when it comes out, maybe a bit of starcraft 2 aswell

Not sure about Witcher 3 but the rest should be fine with the FX 6300, Battlefield is very well optimized and Starcraft is a few years old now so you shouldn't run into any issues with that.

If you are able to save up a bit more money I think that an intel cpu is a much better option since newer games seem to be becoming more cpu intensive.
