Thanks for the reply. Does this mean I will lose everything on my current HDD?

Install windows on the SSD and then copy all of your data from the HDD to the SSD

Welcome to the forum!

I have tried using Samsung' magician Migration software and it seems to be solid, that being said I was only transferring the data from one drive to another which would be more complex if you are transferring more than one drive such as an OS and storage drive.

So can I keep all of my files on the HDD and just have the SSD run the OS? Or will I need to move files?

Thanks again

You get to select what files you want to transfer or have it make an exact clone of the old drive itself. Also for this migration software you will need connect the new drive via a USB cable to SSD connector to allow it to transfer the data.

I had an exteral seagate drive and used this:

I might have to give this a go, didn't realise it would be so easy.

Also, do I need the USB adapter thing or can I plug it straight into my other SATA header on my motherboad?

I believe it can be done directly through sata on the motherboard but don't quote me on that since I haven't tried that before.
