Hey guys,

So i have just finished building my pc, and when i turn it on, there is no video output to my monitor.

I have the video card connected to the monitor using a HDMI cable.

I have tried several times, but the monitor just would not get a signal.

Specs:

AMD FX8350

MSI 970 Gaming Mobo

Sapphire R9 280X TOXIC

8GB DDR3 RAM

750 Watt Cooler Master

Can anyone please help me?

Reply on this thread or add me on skype: jos.millenaar

Thanks!

Dan

Possibly, by any chance are you using something like a TV for a display. I once had a similar situation where a new video card I installed wouldn't wake up my 47" Sony TV and I vaguely remember having to resort to connecting an actual monitor to the other port (and possibly making it the primary one) before the TV would be given/sent a signal, at which point it would remain on even after redisconnecting the old temporary monitor, until that is, that I turned off computer again, so I had to resort to leaving the old monitor hooked up, not used and sitting on the floor.

So you had to have the old monitor connected for the new monitor to work?

Try using just one ram stick in each slot and see what happens .... then try two. Because things appear to boot and then stop, it could well be a RAM issue.
