I am currently looking into mechanical keyboards for gaming, and I am not sure which type I want, either a red or a blue. I want the click of the blue, but the light feel of the red. Is there any type that would like combine these 2 features, or are they similar enough in one aspect where I can get both from 1 of them.

Cherry MX Brown. I regret getting MX red, I'd prefer brown.

Get a brown if you're not sure. It's a good medium between the tactile feel of blues and "linearity" and lightness of red.

I like blues because of the click and tactile actuation point.  I have used reds and I don't like not having the tactile accusation point.

If you have people near you that you will piss off get brown, red, or black.  They all lack the clicky sound.

I don't particularly like the linear switches.  I do more work on my computer than game though.  For gaming the linear switches( reds and blacks) are generally recommended.

Please look closer before you suggest keyboard / switch to the OP. He WANTS the click.

It you're willing to make a bit of a compromise, maybe consider the Razer Black Widow Ultimate? it doesn't use official Cherry MX keys, but its switches are very close to blues. My younger and older brother have it (I use a g710+ from Logitech) and they swear by it. I'd say the keys feel heavy to me, but I went right from membrane to Brown, so I might not be the best one when it comes to an opinion on that.

If he wants the click then there's no choice but to go for the MX blue or Razer Green keyswitches. Of course he can always bottom out on browns and get a click noise that way too.

Nope, it's either Blues or Reds. They only have heavier alternatives, Greens are heavier Blues and Blacks are heavier Reds.

Note that the Blues are only 5 cN higher than the Reds. So I think you'd be fine with Blues.

I did read the OP, I just suggested something that he didn't specifically ask for. If he knew exactly what he wanted he wouldn't ask.

Imagine clicky reds. Unfortunately blues are already the lightest clicky switches.
