Screw Prime95 or ...?

Go to solution Solved by Mixzzz,

Guys at overclock.net said to disable APM and I did... It solved the problem

Ok... So I have my FX-8320 @ stock settings (1.3375V) now and disabled Turbo core. It runs perfectly with AMD overdrive and AIDA64 stability test. Even with an overclock to 4.0GHz with a slight voltage bump (1.3500v). I'm running on stock cooler which keeps it at 58-60C range so it's still in the OKish zone but I'm getting a new cooler anyway. When I tried to use Prime95 it was horribly unstable jumping from 2.9GHz to 3.5 all the time. I tried searching and found this. Im using the same motherboard (rev 5.0) and did what was suggested to him by GB. When I set the LLC to Auto (Note that there is only Regular and Extreme which I believe is 0% and 100%?) it started going up to 1.45v and even 1.5v at one moment but it didn't it for a long time because temps were going up fast and it after like half min it shut itself off to prevent any damage. I can't decide whether it's a problem with prime95 or hardware related issue

running prime 95 makes sure your pc is stable while running prime 95. as long as is fine for what you are going to use it for then it does matter what it runs like with prime 95.

I know but shouldn't FX series be able to run Prime95 at least at stock with no problems?
