hello!

I am new in this forum. This is actually my first post. Was not sure where to post it.

So, rainy season has begun with a lot of thunderstorms. My internet cable (CAT 5) cable runs from outside of my home sirectly to my router. And my router feed internet to 3 of my pcs via CAT Cable. I've heard many people had nasty mobo burns and other failures due to thunderstorms. Is there any way to protect it ?

I've found some 'ethernet surge protector' (like this one : http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-DTEL2-Dataline-Protector/dp/B0000512ZX/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1424364486&sr=1-7&keywords=ethernet+surge+protector) . Will this work for my setup ? Would i just need one that connects to my router? or would i need one for each of my pcs? Thanks !!!!

also fiber connection is not possible. And I cant run the surge protector UPS 24/7. Thanks !
