Has anyone played Lost Planet 3 and is it worth buying?

Has anyone played Lost Planet 3. Its on sale. I liked Lost Planet and Lost Planet 2. http://store.steampowered.com/app/226720/ I heard bad things about this game.

 

IGN shows it as a 6.2/10

Metacritic 61/100

GameRankings 64.88%

 

Knowing Capcom sales on Steam should I wait or buy it now. Lost Planet 2 hardly ever went on sale. What's your recommendation? I heard it has no co-op.

I've played it, and its not a bad game. But the last update broke it for me.

It just refuses to launch, and every time I go to install it now, it won't let me play until it updates, which effectively has locked me out of the game.

Lost Planet 3 is terrible, don't buy it.  It's nothing like the others.

What are the first to like? Because my first impression was that LP3 is a ripoff from the Mechassault series (kind of Mehwarrior online as well, but it doesn't exactly follow the first 2 games-its not a true sucessor IMO).

Lost Planet was a 3rd person story-driven shooter, basically focused on lone-wolf boss fights against the Akrid

Lost Planet 2 was more of a co-op game, every level had ranks and story wasn't as coherent since there was no main character to speak of, it just happened to take place on the same world after the first game.

Exactly!  Same here...3 was a big step backwards for me.  Lost Planet 2 was a much better game.  If you can get a good deal on that, pick that up.

Yeah, I loved Lost Planet 1 and 2. Was 3 made by a different team?

Yup, Capcom made the first 2 and 3 was outsourced to Spark Unlimited who don't have the greatest track record.

No wonder why it was so bad. The only outsourced Capcom game that I liked was DmC: Devil May Cry.
