Is it worth it ?

my current system is :

 

cpu: intel q9550 core 2 quad (NO OC) 

gpu: asus NVIDIA 8800 gt

8gb of ram 

motherboard: as rock g41c-gs

 

my gpu is compromising the performance of my cpu since it has not enough ram for textures and stuff like that and it cant display almost anything at 60 fps  , so i was thinking about upgrading my gpu  to a gtx 750 ti , is it worth it ? 

 

i believe that it will increase my gaming experience although i will be bottlenecking the gtx a bit ...

 

please help me

That cpu can hold something like a 750 ti or a 260x quite well afaik.
