So...what does this mean?

Go to solution Solved by Leonard,

I'm converting videos right now and...WOAH 13 GHz and a max of 299 GHz!! I must have the fastest pc around!  ^_^

Untitled.jpg

Seriously though, those crazy numbers fluctuate up and down for a short time. My max GHz is 4.4.

Any explanation?

This happens with monitoring software while OCing, either a "BSOD" or a "hang up" is the cause and has happened to most of us who OCs.

What you need to do is reset the monitoring software by finding the "refresh" option and clicking on it, Sometimes you have to go FILE>REFRESH or as in the case with AIDA64 Extreme you just right click in the monitoring window and click refresh.

Pass that over here lol. In all seriousness it does look like a glitch. Does it give you readings like that in other monitoring software?

AMD CPU's are notorious for having very bad sensors. For instance, my CPU's idle temp is 113C and under load I get ~170C -_- so don't worry about it
