So I just got Crysis 3, and here I am all excited to play it...and problems.

It's happened 3 times now. But every once in a while, the screen will go black, and start to "flicker" between the desktop, black screen, and whatever is on screen in crysis. This occurs until I bring up task manager and force the program to end. The really weird part, is that when this happens my secondary monitor (which is showing nothing but desktop, Asus GPU monitor, and HW Monitor.

What I don't understand, is that while playing there are no problems, not stutter, no frame drops, nothing, and then all of a sudden this just...happens. I've even ALT+TABed out of the game once or twice without issue.

Anyone else having these problems? I have all my drivers up to date, I used GeForce experience to set the game to optimized, etc. and still the problem persists.

All temps are normal. I was slightly overclocking from 1253 to 1303, never had any issues with that in any other game. My GPU wasn't really even trying that hard, wasn't even hitting 100% load.

I will check the game cache, but I check for updates and it said everything was fine. Like I said, the game runs fine when it runs, but then randomly crashes for no reason at all.

I might be off the mark, but I'll try what I can think of.

Have you tried verifying the install files? You can do that over Origin by right-clicking the game and selecting "Repair Game."

Have you re-installed your drivers? I read you're up-to-date (Yes, I do read the OP.) However, sometimes it's nice to do a fresh install.

Has this PC ever had an AMD card installed? If so, please look and confirm that there are no traces left of AMD drivers whatsoever.

Are you overclocking your GPU or your CPU? If so, have you tried turning down the clocks a bit and then playing, to see if the issue still occurs?

I am going to try it without the GPU overclocked. The CPU is only running on turbo boost. Never had an AMD card installed. I ran the game repair through origin, it checked the cache and then installed for a bit...then just said complete.

Really hoping this ends it...game seems fun and looks fantastic.

So far so good I guess. Hard to say when I don't know what circumstances caused the issue to present itself in the first place.

Will update if it happens again.
