Can someone tell me if the power LED of the fractal design r5 is the same blue as the r4?

Yes it's blue on the black model and red on the white.

you can easily swap out the LED bulb. They go for 1.99 on either http://www.xoxide.com/or FrozenPC. I forget where I got mine from. Wanted to keep the red and black theme on my case.

Yes it's blue on the black model and red on the white.

is the blue the same as the old, i've seen some pictures and looks a bit violet

They're not. At least not based on TechPowerUp's photos. R4 vs R5.

 

I was going to check for you myself, until I realized that I have the R4 Blackout with a white power LED. =/

Soldering in a new one is pretty easy. it was my first ever mod i have done to my PC. :D

This was my first ever PC mod too! Only I didnt need to solder anything with the lovely case! The bulb just pops right in and thats it! I will note the cord from the new LED IS a little tight when its plugged in (meaning there is no slack in the line) so be mindful of that if you ever remove the front of the case to clean or change anything else. 

 

Again no soldering needed with teh Fractal R4!!

How'd you do that? did you lay out additional power cables? i just popped the old one out, cut it off, soldered a new one in and glued it into palce. :D

Nope I bought a red led for 1.99 and just pulled the blue one out then stuck the red on in and plugged it in to the header on mother board. I think I took pictures of the process since it was considered a pc mod to me
