I keep hearing about folks who have algae, or bacteria grow in their systems. Surely there is a solution. Ionized silver, for instance, like public pools are now doing because its more cost effective than chlorine. UV lamps like restaurants use?

And who says we have to use water, or distilled water? Its a radiator right? Why not use a propylene glycol solution, aka radiator fluid?

I'm sure these questions have already been thought of by people who have been liquid cooling for a long time. So what are your answers? please share..

silver kill coils are used by mane people in their watercooling systems to stop biological growth

also people use distilled water because it has a neutral PH and does not break down over time. This means that your waterblocks and tubing made from different metals and plastics wont corrode, and no gunk will form over time to block the microfins in the waterblocks

Silver kill coils are commonly used to prevent algae in loops. Water is great for heat transfer as it picks up and loses a lot of heat quickly. Rad fluid (anti freeze) is not necessarily going to stop growth just ask linus. There are plenty of solutions out there that are designed specifically for use in computers but the simplest is deionized water and a piece of silver.
