I am planning to build a new pc containing an MSI gtx 970 and an i7 4790k cooled by a corsair h105 (just cause i like how it looks). It will be in the Fractal design define r5 windowed case. I am trying to decide on whether to put the 240mm radiator on the top to maximize airflow and sacrifice a bit of quietness and looks, or to put it on the front and leave the moduvents closed. This would result in slightly increased gpu temps. Which do you think I should go with? If I choose the front mount then I will remove all the hard drive brackets and put it in a push-pull config as intake. If it is on the top then it will be a push exhaust. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have mine mounted in the front. The cpu temps are really cool, but the gpu temps are obviously warmer. Gpu can get to around 77c sometimes.

Cool (no pun intended)! I was planning to mount it at the front, anyways. What gpu do you have? I have a gtx 970, I hear it doesn't output much heat.

I have a 970 as well. But then again I live in southern California, so it's warm here all year. It's like 70-80 in the winter

I live in south cali as well lol. Awesome I am going to mount the radiator on the front as intake. Also how are your fans set up? How many on each side?

I have the 2 140mm in the front as intake, the radiator, then 2 120mm pulling air from the radiator, 2 bottom intake, I have the top closed off and 1 rear exhaust

try mounting in the top, if it's too loud for you, move it to the front and deal with higher temps

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!
