Help with Frameworks; engineering maths

Hello

 

I would like some help with a question that i have in Mechanical Science,

I cant seem to do this questions as it confuses me that the supports are on the side and how the support forces dont at up to the forces being put on 15kn

If anyone would like to give this a go it would be much appreciated :)

Well, as im not a believer of giving the answer on a golden platter for maths related work, I've drawn this to give you a helping hand.

 (63.44 and 26.56 are angles, my bad, forgot to draw on angle sign before taking picure)

 

Some hints

I would recommend working out the forces as a magnitude and the angle it acts in

Work out the forces of BC first 

arrows pointing inwards suggests the structure is under compression and outwards is torsion.

Also remember moments WILL come into play here!

I would first take the moment force about A to give you the wall's reaction force at B.

 

After that you only have the X and Y reaction forces at A which are unknown, so those can be found by summing the forces in the X and Y directions. Just find the sqrt(Rx^2 + Ry^2) for the magnitude then Tan(theta) = Ry/Ra.

 

At this point you should have all of the external forces so you can just look at each of the corners FBD's to give you the normal forces in each of the members.
