It is best for the disks to be the same size when running them in RAID.

Your SSDs have to be the same size for raid.

 

Though that is true for both SSDs and HDDs.

That's not true at all. You can RAID any size drives together. However the array will essentially and array of the smallest drives i.e. if you RAID a 128GB SSD and a 256GB SSD you would have an available space of 256GB (2x128GB).

Can you list the specific motherboard please?

I have a asus z97 motherboard, with 1 750gb hdd, 1 2tb hdd, 1 128 gb ssd(this is my boot drive), 1 256 gb ssd. When i try to create a new raid volume it only displays the HDD's and it says (non-raid physical drives). Can anyone help me? im trying to raid 0 my 2 ssds.

Wow, nice board.

Firstly, make sure you're on the latest BIOS. Secondly, to RAID any of the drives you should use the top 4 plain SATA ports and avoid the SATA Express ports.
