Does this game still have enough of a following to justify a purchase for online play?

Story is fun too ya know.

Good point. But multiplayer provides the real playability in my eyes.

since EA did a 1 dollar bad company 2, the multiplayer servers have exploded in players

i dont know if they will in the near future, since its so loved, and still has graphics comparible to the latest installments

they will keep on running for a long time, don't worry. Anybody knows anything about the early bf games's servers?

Looks like it was scheduled to shutdown with gamespy but EA saved it.

EA put it on origin but the servers were going to be shutdown.

I agree that I've seen it much cheaper, but also this would be me buying it with an Amazon gift card which was given to me around Christmas.

$30 worthy? because I have an amazon giftcard worth $30 and thats what it costs....

I play it a couple of times a month to relive the awesomeness. There are still a buttload of people playing it. And campaign is really great!
