Best Thermal Paste Method

Hi,

i bought this thermal paste on Amazon.com.

 

So, which method is better to apply it, Thin line across the middle, or the rice sized dot in the middle

 

Which is the best for I5-4690.

I always use the Rice-Sized-Dot-In-The-Middle method.

There is no best. Just your preference

Last time I changed thermal paste I did a % sign, diagonal line with two small dots at each empty corners, works really well. Hard to find a test that compares all methods of applying, but as far as I can tell, the "X" method is the best, the dot is also really good. Remember that the cpu die under the heat spreader is quite a bit smaller, and that most of the performance will come from covering that die.

Doesnt matter really, all work fine. Noctua themself in their cooler manuals reccomended the dot in the centre
