Looks good to me but I'd go for 2x4GB ram because then it can be faster and you can still upgrade to 16 if you need to.

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

i was thinking of adding another 8gb stick in a few months and also though heat released would be lesser with fewer sticks

Heat released by the RAM is negligible. Also, build looks fine. I would suggest either replacing your PSU with 500-600w one to save some money - or to grab R9 280X instead of GTX 960 for some more performance. Because 750w PSU for i5+960 is not even funny.

^ ya go with a 600w psu and i would recomend the R9 280x as well due to some concerns right now about the card

Umm, I am not sure there are any serious concerns about GTX 960. I mean, apart from the fact that its remarkably unremarkable GPU, that gets beaten by R9 280X, which costs only 20$ more, has 1 GB more VRAM, obliterates GTX 960 in every test and every resolution, and is actually 2+ years old design. But thats not a concern really, just nVidia being lazy and packing just enough performance into GTX 960 to justify 200$ price tag and not an ounce more.

Maybe confusing it with GTX 970?
