I want to take some courses In university, but I can't go because I have to do college first, so should get a diploma in computer science or just transfer over and get a degree, and do you think I will get a job quick if I graduate with a computer science degree

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

There is definitely a demand for computer science majors, but one problem is that many people are learning it themselves. If you are a decent learner, you can pretty much teach yourself all you need to know by going online and practicing a lot. So, I have heard people majoring in something like computer engineering or mechanical engineering instead, so you get the most out of the money you are paying for college.

Most of the time though those self taught programmers cant even get in the door for interviews, as most companies want proof of programming skills, unless they have a massive software portfolio they will have a rough time getting a job, as companies simply don't want to risk getting someone under experienced, most of the time they look for someone with a degree and a decent sized portfolio to back up that degree as they have put forth the most effort and time into learning.
