Xeon for gaming?

Go to solution Solved by Prastupok,

I have seen the price of xeon proccesors decline and was wondering, how does it compare to my current 7700k and the i7 series. Will it handle a 780ti or will it bottleneck. Will the system hang or not? specs are below and this is the xeon i was intending to upgrade to- http://www.amazon.co.uk/INTEL-E5-1650v2-3-5GHz-LGA2011-0-Cache/dp/B00F3U005M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424009804&sr=8-1&keywords=xeon+3.5ghz- this was reduced to £150 and it much cheaper than an i7.

No. You don't need an E5. Get a good i5 for a lot less and be happy if you're trying to game.

i5 will blow away your 7700k.

have E5s... but they've never seen a game.

Xeons are really good processors. I don't know what you are going to do with your new CPU but for gaming it will be fine and video editing/rendering will go really smooth on a Xeons. Your 780TI won't be bottlenecked at all.

I5-8600K - GTX 1080 - 16GB RAM - 1.5TB SSD

I want everything pink
