I can hear it in a lot of songs from many different bands. I've tried 2 different headphones with Xonar DGX and onboard sound, as well as onboard sound on another PC. Same thing. So I guess it has nothing to do with my gear. Why are their recordings so bad?

I can hear the crackling/popping in music, movies and games as well... in fact it seems to be present everywhere. It's there in Windows sounds, Steam chat notification sound, skipping through a song, in CS:GO gun sounds, BF4 heavy explosions, FC4 whenever I hit the gass (W) in a vehicle... And it's not random at all. I can reproduce it every time I play it.

Tried on a second PC with onboard sound, and on my current PC with both onboard and Xonar DGX. Also tested on 2 headsets. HyperX Cloud and a crappy G330 where the crackling is barely noticeable due to it's muffled sound. I guess that's why I never really noticed the issue when I was using it, before I upgraded to HyperX Cloud.

Is this crackling/popping considered normal?
