So here I am, wanting to learn how to code.

I have always wanted to be able to code and I have finally decided to do it.

I did a bit of looking round and people were saying C/C++ are the easiest to learn so I thought, hey why not? Now the only thing is how do I learn? I know the best way to learn is to actually code but that's like throwing someone into France with only a dictionary and no idea of French. So is There any software I should get and how do you recommend I get into it to learn the basics? I know about code academy but found it boring when it tied to teach myself at on point, HTML.

Cheers,

From the perspective of an absolute beginner, Java, C# or Python is probably easier to start out with. Using those languages you can get pretty much right into the ideas behind programming without having to jump through the language specific hoops in C and C++ such as pointers. Pointers are necessary and you will have to learn them at some point but coming across them as an absolute beginner probably isn't the best way to go about it.
