Hello there. Currently I have seen that Micro Center will be hosting a BYOPC Clinic. It's an event that will display how to build a PC, the hazards of ESD, choosing your parts and many more. Has anyone ever been to this? I know that there will be one tomorrow, February 14 in my local Micro Center at 2:00 Pm. I am looking forward to it and might actually go. I saw that it will be available at every Micro Center. Is anyone going?

Never been to one of those events. They have them all the time though. I always see a new sign up for the next event everytime I head over to my MC.

I didn't even know they did these things.

Sounds like a good place to meet a girl with similar interests on Valentine's day...assuming any girls actually show up. Haha

Have fun man.

Microcenter is always fun, what am I talking about? Haha

It is a fun place! Especially drooling over things that your wallet can't even carry! My little sisters hates that place.  :(

You might be able to sign up at the store though, so might be more people.

They have events like learn about antivirus, microsoft office, etc. The only people I feel like would go are people who know nothing about computers and want to know the basics. Highly doubt some chick your age would go, but hey, I could be super wrong.

-snip-

@reapersivan: Tell me about it. I went about a week ago to the Microcenter in Tustin,CA and was drooling over the ROG swift. So expensive and my single 780 couldn't drive it well enough to take advantage of what it offers, but I still couldn't help myself from wanting it so damn badly. Haha

@deVIZtation: It definitely sounds like those are who these classes are aimed at, but for someone his age it's a nice place to meet others with similar interests and although I highly doubt girls his age will be there as well....you never know. Just trying  to encourage him to go man.

I literally live 20 minutes away from the Micro Center in Tustin! I once helped a costumer find Ram, he was an elder man with a girl, I am guessing his daughter. He thanked me and patted my back.

I asked Micro Center on there website online chat for support and they said that I do not need to sign up but I do need to be there like 10 mins early because they will have a headcount.

Nice.

Good job helping out a shopper man. *fist bump*

Lucky you....I have to drive a little more than an hour to get there so I don't visit too often.

If I lived 20 minutes away I imagine I would practically live there. Haha

That's cool. I live about 30 minutes away. I hardly go, only when I have a build for a client because of the awesome CPU and MOBO deals. They charge way too much for GPU's, way too much.

If only Gpus could lower down maybe around 15-30% would be a blessing!

You know what I think is a rip off!? That the snacks and drinks cost around 30% more than every other store.

Yup, honestly, just go ahead. Tell us all how it went. I mean, if there was a chance to meet a chick there that would be awesome.

I will not lie....I have never even noticed they have snacks there. I have only ever looked at the components. Haha

I will keep an eye out for that next time.

I have price matched twice on GPUs at this Microcenter with Newegg sale prices. For the GTX 770 and then the GTX 780.

They had to call out the manager each time, and they had to navigate to the page on their PC, but they price matched so I suggest asking them about that next time.

Keep in mind, this was about 2 years ago, times change, and so do the managers..

I can't remember the name of the manager who price matched for me, but I remember it was a woman if that helps.

She also hooked me up with some games because of some complications with a promotion they had at the time.

I got 5 games with my AMD Gpu, I asked them if I got a physical voucher and gave me one, it  was only for 2 games. There was a code on me receipt for 3 games!
