wireless adapter with low response

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

A USB wireless adapter trades a bit of overall power for lots of convenience.

Most PCI-based wireless adapters come with multiple large antennas that stick straight out of the rear of your system and help maximize your connection making it generally faster than the USB option.  :)

Hey all,

I need a new wireless adapter for my new computer. Just built it and as of now i'm using an old trendnet one which really isn't cutting it for games or anything else really.

I am aware that wireless is not that great for gaming but i have been gaming on my laptop for the last year with not so many problems.

My router is directly under my room.

I'm thinking something like this

Not sure if this helps or not:

Firstly, use an Ethernet cable and connect to the router in order to test the wired internet speed. This will ensure it's not just slow internet, in which case you will need to contact your ISP.

That adapter will be great. You can also get a USB adapter, which is what I have.

My internet is garbage regardless. 60 kbps down max, don't really know about upload.

are there any advantages of usb over pci?
