my pc will not boot

i will start of saying sorry for bad english 

my problem is that i try to get or familys old pc to work, but when i plug it to power it makes an really high beep noise over 100 db and then it stops. then i pressed the start butten on the pc and it just continues. i dont know what is wrong but i can not smell any smoke or stuff but i am still to afraid to let it run as i am pretty sure the bib sound is a warning. i hope somebody can help 

the pc i do not know much about other than it has 

intel dueo 

gt 8800

375 watts psu 

and 4 ram sticks i dont know if its 4x1 gb or 4x2 gb

Most likely bad PSU or dead motherboard.

@mads1997 Do you have another PSU or similar cpu socket motherboard? if so, try and swap them out.

The PC is old. I think it's time to upgrade.

my pc is an other one i just want this to work so that we have a pc that everyon ein the house can use
