How to test if ssd is working

Hi I am building a pc and buying parts piece by piece over the time of a couple months to get good deals, and I bought the ssd first. How do I test if it works so by the time i build my pc it wont be the final part that isnt working.

Plug it in another PC or a laptop then check the bios.

Plug it into another PC and see if it's recognized in the BIOS.

To see if it works, plug it in to your computer either via SATA if youre on a desktop or with a USB adapter if on a laptop, and if you can see it in windows, it works.

When in doubt, re-format.
