Dota 2 ping!

Hey there guys, I have a 15 inch rMbp, and I have both osx and bootcamp windows 7 on it. When I play dota 2 on my mac, there are no lag/ping spikes whatsoever. However, when I go over to windows, I get spikes from 5 ping to 800-900 ping, for a reason of which I don't know! These spikes last about 1-2 minutes. Can someone tell me why?!

The first thing I can't tell for sure. Its propably some software checking for updates. And thats also reason for it not happening in OSX. There might not be same software.

Also check your steam downloaded when you are playing, usually they start downloading for no reason when Im playing Dota.

But I have no programs at all other than steam, origin, and chrome

Well... then I can't be any more of assistance. If it would do same on both OS' then there could be issues on provider or your home LAN. But since its only windows, it must be software checking for updates or downloading something at background. Remember that this includes AV and windows itself too.

Is it a recent problem? If it is, it might be the new patch messing you up.
