Specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YrT3Bm

Issue: I should have a copy of Ubuntu (14.04 at the minimum) on a small ~300GB partition of my 2TB, I just tried to boot into it and I instead of a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. What's the issue? I have CD's of: Ubuntu (14.04, 32/64 bit), Linux Mint (16, 32/64 bit) & Debian (7, 32 bit) if need be.

just live boot and install from there (in OS)

You can't just copy the file a partition; it's a bit more complicated than that

You don't just dump the ISO file in there, you need to install it properly. Did you actually burn it in the CD and installed it to your hard drive from your CD?

I have BEEN ABLE to boot into it before today (like a week ago) the CD's I bought straight from the website, I didn't (nor would I) burn them my self. Ubuntu WAS installed properly and could be used.

re-download the file, format usb to live boot and follow in-OS partitioning/installation instructions.  Don't no why you bought ubuntu tho... it's free...
