So I'm looking for a USB hub to go ontop of my desk. So I need the cord to be around 1 metre - 4 feet long, a bit longer doesnt matter, but can't be shorter than 1 metre. I'm going to have this ontop of my desk.. so asethtics will matter to me. I'll need at least 4 usbs, maybe 6. Anyone have recommendations? Or is there a way to DIY from salvaging the usb port from old computer cases?

Well that's very generic. I'd recommend a USB 3.0 hub, as you never know when in the future you might be plugging in USB 3 devices into those hubs.

As far as length you could always get a USB extension cord. Just make sure that if you're using a USB 3.0 hub that you get a USB 3.0 extension cable.

Its cheap and I got two of them. You can run your keyboard and mouse and wifi on one of them. I charge other things with the other. But I noticed that you can only charge one thing at a time. But its easy to switch one and off what you want to charge.

Sounds good. Any reccomendations? While I'm at it.. does anyone know where to get a good quality headphone splitter? The ones I buy at the dollar store are awful.. sometimes one side of the headphone plays no sound unless I move it in a different angle/ rotate the connector..

Yeah with a non-powered hub you can only charge one thing off of it at one time. If you want to charge multiple things I'd suggest a powered hub, such as this one
