Hello everyone, I have a peculiar problem.  I just ordered another 6950 off of amazon to crossfire with my current 6950.  I did all the usual stuff when putting in another graphics card( uninstalling drivers, putting new card in, installing xfire bridge).  Now the problem is my new Sapphire radeon 6950 will not operate at pcie 2.0 16x.  It will only operate at 2x...  I have tried in the system with only the single card.  My other GPU reports 16x usage in the first slot!  Any ideas???

What mobo do you have, it might not have the capability to run the second at 16x

I have the Asus m5a99x evo. In crossfire it should run at 8x/8x speed... I know that.  My problem is that the card is running at 2x speed, in the second slotm when it should be 8x.  I have tried using just the single new card in the top 16x slot, and I am still getting 2x speed!

do you have some benchmarks you can compare yours to, it could just be showing it like that in the program and running fine in reality

Inspect the PCI-E slot fingers on the graphics card for dust/dirt or damage.

It seems like some of the pins are not making proper contact with the PCI-E slot.

I'm not seeing any signs of modded vBIOS...all the numbers look normal.
