So, I bit the bullet and ordered this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-232-203

I've had excellent luck with Asus' G series in the past.

Any G751 owners with some additional insight?

The projects never end in my line of work.

Seeing as my desktop is postponed for now, a good workstation/gaming laptop was due, so here we are! Thanks.

I still would love opinions from someone who does have it.

I could, but that defeats the purpose of asking here, where I like.

True. But here seems to have a lot of people who recommend ASUS and nobody who owns any... it's why half the posts I make in "wanna buy gaming laptops" threads etc are borderline flame because nobody actually knows anything other than mainstream accepted knowledge (which is provided by users who don't actually use gaming laptops daily and are judging based on the race for thin/light combined with expecting the way things are now to be the way things were 10 years ago).

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

I've owned Asus G series for years, just want to know exactly what I should be looking at with this new one! I appreciate the recommendation though.

Well I can tell you it'll be a bitch to clean and repaste if you need to, and I can say ASUS have gone full integrated this time around. Aside from that, I don't know what much else you would wanna know. It'll have a bit of heft, it's a ROG series so it should cool pretty well.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
