How to do a NAS

Hello fellow tech people,

 

My friend and i want to create a network storage device that is able to stream video over the internet, say a shared media device.

We have a couple hardrives lying around and now we need some kind of nas enclosure to put them in. 

Is there a particular thing/kind we should look for?

 

In the drawing attached to the post, you can see what we want to do.

We both need to be able to connect to the NAS and watch/change/manage the files on it, At least ... that's the idea.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
