Sorry ive been posting this question twice. But is there a way to transfer my steam saves to an external hard drive? all i want is to save my borderlands2 characters to an external drive because i am getting a new computer. I have put a lot of time into these characters and would hate to lose them.

Note: Taking my hard drive out is not an option. I am reseting my computer to factory settings because i am selling it.

All of the save files that arnt on Steam Cloud should in my documents

So if i put those files on an external hard drive, then i will be able to put them back onto steam When i get my new pc?

Yep, it should work.

 

There are some save files in %Addata%, only for some games though.

Where would i find my borderlands save files and character saves?

Mine are in My Documents and in My Games

Its all saved in the cloud. Youll be able to sync your characters on your new computer.

it always backups your saves. just download the game again and it will automatically detect if you have saves for that game available in the cloud.
