Ok so every hour i will be adding another example of Australian Tech compared to US Tech

Ok so we all know that everything that involves tech in Australia cost more, but just how much more

First example: The last of us from Gamestop.com vs ebgames.com.au (same company)

America: $59.99 USD equivalent to $65.51 AUD http://www.gamestop.com/ps3/games/the-last-of-us/98630

Australia: $98.00 AUD equivalent to $89.75 USD https://www.ebgames.com.au/ps3-156572-The-Last-Of-Us-PlayStation-3

As seen in the first example we pay almost an extra $20 USD (and that isent evan the worst example) more for new video games than they do in the US.

Second example: Asus GTX 780 3GB From NCIX US vs PCCASEGEAR

America: $649.99 USD equivalent to $709.75 AUD

http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=84201&vpn=GTX780-3GD5&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1316

Australia: $849.00 AUD equivalent to $777.51 USD

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1483&products_id=23498&zenid=a7d9aaa5ddc126e02c714d8ce65aa6b6

As seen in the second example we pay almost an extra $130 USD more for this 780

Third example: Iphone 5 From apple US vs apple au

America: from $199 USD equivalent to $217.30 AUD

http://store.apple.com/us/buy/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone5

Australia: from $799 AUD equivalent to $ 731.72 USD

http://store.apple.com/au/buy/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone5

As seen in the third example we pay almost an extra $530 USD more for the iphone 5

New example coming at 3:30 AM pacific time.

What exactly is the point of this? There have already been threads on this + it is generally a known fact that the US is cheaper.

i just wanted to show multiple examples ranging from console to pc to phones to any other tech product.

I know that their have been many threads on this but i just wanted to show multiple examples from multiple areas of tech. Ill stop it if you don't see the point in it.

Here in Europe they tend to be lazy and just change dollar icons for euro icons, which is quite a big difference. Maybe small drops but if you pay for example $400 for a thing in the US and they were lazy, you gotta pay €400 here, which is over $520. But this all is not a new thing.

i5 4670k - MSI GTX 770 gaming - Fractal design define R4 (windowed) - MSI Z87-G45 gaming - be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 - Corsair vengeance 8 gb (lp) - WB black 1tb - 256GB SSD - Corsair TX 750M - Ducky Shine 3

Euopean prices often already contain VAT ;)

---

e.g. (for germany)

400 USD = 307 Euro

400 Euro minus 19% VAT = 336 Euro

so "only" about a 10% premium ;)

The conversion rate when buying stuff from overseas is like 10 years old on some sites. Whereas the current rate is about $1.00 AUD = $0.92 USD

I think the conversion rate Paypal used when it was $1=$1, was $1USD = $0.80AUD (from memory)

Shipping within Australia is sometimes more expensive than shipping from America which is just FANTASTIC.

I get really jealous when Americans complain about $10 shipping :(
