So I'm making multiple websites and i'm going to host them myself and this is the monster I came up with to power the sites. Also, I need a name for this beast. (my current PC's name is Bloodmyst BTW)

 

These specs will be upgraded as we add more sites. (RAM, SSD, etc.)

why a video card?

edit 2: theres 15$ graphics cards that are what you should use if all you need is a video output. that will give you another 40-50 towards more ram/storage/cpu

I suggest if your going to run a server, the 6 core 1.6 ghz xeon will be a better buy than this one. You'll also need more ram.

The ram will be added as we expand and grow more sites but i do need to change it to 1 x 8

We know, but it's a widely accepted standard that will cause no future cpu upgrades to be required for awhile.

The E3-1245 v3 with an iGPU will cost less than 1230 + 240.

I live in the Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill), and I don't think Google offers anything besides 1Gbps. Besides, Gigabit service is only $70/mo which is bounds better than the Fuck You™ Pay-out-the-A.S.S. FiOS Service from Veri$on, where they charge ADSL speeds for symmetric fibre.

The thing is, I'm not running the main server, I'm running the backup one. The OP is running the main server and is in Minnesota, and says they do have Gigabit service from CenturyLink - I'm not sure whether he's going to get that right away though. Even with that the server isn't anything immediate so I'm sure both ends will have gigabit fibre... in any case I will here in NC.

google offers free 5d 1u but Damn still lucky to have such access
