Hello people of the linus tech tip forums..

So i am in the market for a budget sold state drive. I have been going back and forth between the Samsung 850 evo and Crucial mx200. They are around the same price for around the same money. If anybody would feel free and voice their opinions on which one they would buy feel free. Thanks for the help. :D    BTW i am looking for the 250 gb or 256 models. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1423488222&sr=1-1&keywords=samsung+850+evo+250gband http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX200-250GB-Internal-Solid/dp/B00RQA6DTE/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1423489280&sr=1-1&keywords=crucial+mx200

The 850 evo, because of the way it's laid out, got back some of the reliability that SSDs have lost by shrinking.

850 Evo all the way. :D

The projects never end in my line of work.

Hey I had a simlar question but didn't want to start a whole thread with the same question

What should I look for when buying an SSD ?

Are the specifications from SSD brands accurate?

Is there any questionable marketing or buzzwords I should avoid?

Right now this is what i can get with my budget ↓

ab8Gz58.png

1€ = 1.13 US Dollars

Main - SPEEDTEST
CPU AMD FX-8350 | RAM Kingston HyperX 12GB @1866MHz | GPU Gigabyte HD 7850 | Mobo Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 | HDD 1863GB Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 | PSU 550W | Case VENTO A8
Le Petite Frankenstein (First build, only original part is GPU)
CPU AMD Ahlon II X2 260 | RAM 2x2GB @1333MHz | GPU Sapphire HD 3650 | Mobo Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P | HDD 500GB | PSU 500W | 1998 Case
I support AMD because I support competition in the hardware market. We all know if the "other guys" had a complete monopoly, things wouldn't get any better for ANYONE..

I wouldn't worry too much about what is inside of the drive.

Just know that the 850 evo will be fast, secure, extremely reliable, and priced very well.
