I personally prefer the Powercolor over the Asus. I think the DCUII cooler on the Asus has some sort of issue on the AMD cards with the heatpipes not contacting properly.

I would also get the R9 290 from Overclockers if you decide on the Powercolor, as they deal with any warranty issues.

This, I know the cooling and motherboard is on the expensive side but I've chosen that mobo on purpose ( No ugly brown PCB in that nice case.) And the cooler will last you like, forever.

Also I overspent a bit on the PSU, the main reason is that the cables are awesome fully black and it's very quiet.

To make your system shine I would advice you to grab some Phobya (High Density) Led strips ( Red and white would be my reccomended colors, right on the bottom white on top.)

http://www.phobya.com/eng/phobya.html

I know it's over budget but It'll be worth it, the extra 10% will make the system look 50% more expensive, I promise :P.

True, some Asus cards have some cooling problems, MSI offers the most compelling option IMO.

The MSI cards had issues with faulty fan bearings.

Yes but this is much easier to RMA, the cooling issue with the Asus card actually is harder to RMA because the card actually functions as advertised, it may run 10-30% hotter but it works. Also this is a reason why some people are reporting that the Asus card is really loud, while in reality the card is just trying to keep the GPU cool the whole time.

You managed to spend more money for no performance gain.

The i5 4690K doesn't need an £80 cooler. The Coolermaster Evo will cope fine at 1/3 of the price.

The Corsair RM power supplies are really bad value for money. If i was spending £80+ on a psu I would go for the EVGA Supernova G2 which is a far better unit.

You also have a smaller SSD as well.

The powercolor card is a breeze to RMA if bought from Overclockers, as they deal directly with the Manufacturer on your behalf.

Not everything has to be function over looks.

Yes you can marry an ''ugly'' girl, yes you''ll most likely would be able to ''reproduce'' and have kids and chances are that she even spends less money on BS like high heels and make-up. You can also marry a pretty girl which will probably cost you more and won't be as practical, but the LOOKS are what seperates them.

You can get a lamborghini for 300K or buy a GT-R for 100K. They are both evenly quick and they both handle almost the same. Why do people buy the lambo for a major 200K more.. You think for yourself now.

What does it matter if something looks good but performs like crap? Most people go with performance over looks anyway. Also price factors in as well so if you can get the same thing but cheaper then they'll get it. The car reference doesn't even work with this since we're not multi billionaires or millionaires.

The op has a £900 budget. You managed to go £130 over just for looks ?

The Coolermaster Nepton doesn't look any nicer than the Coolermaster Evo in my opinion. They are both pretty plain looking coolers.

My spec has a nice red/black theme without going to far over budget. If the op had given Me a £1500 budget then I would have done things differently. You can only work with what budget you have.

Also the 'Brown' tints on the PCB won't be noticeable once the board is in the case.

Well guys i must say thanks for all the help i actually had a system kinda thought out in my head with all the components already picked that fits neatly into my budget and what you guys came up with was literally the same, with a few teeny changes. This topic has made me trust in the build more and for that i thanks you :)

As for the aftermarket cooler, hyper 212 evo will do me and i like the idea of neon like LED's under the case so thanks for that insight :)

The 212 looks rather cheap and I personally think that it has ruined a lot of -otherwise good looking - builds. Please go with an AIO or something from be quiet. You're gonna be sorry if you have a great case but then an ugly piece of metal that looks out of place.

Just my 2 pennies.

The brown pcb is very noticable especially when using case lighting. That's just lying to yourself to make you feel better.

I suggest you put the LED's inside the case (white just on top of the side panel window so that you only see the lighting and red bellow the side panel window. You can do the neon glow thing but in my opinion it almost always looks cheap.
