At the moment I have an iPhone 5 (original). It is in perfect condition but I am due an upgrade in August. I am on the EE network and I am not planning on changing networks. As long as the phone is on the EE network I can get it. So what is the best phone for my daily driver? I will be using it for watching YouTube videos mainly but I am a passionate photographer and need the phone to have a good camera. In terms of size, I am not particularly bothered, however, the iPhone 6 plus is far to big and I would not consider that as a choice. Apple or Android? I'm not bothered because they are both great operating systems and are easy to use. Obviously like any normal person, I do not want a windows phone. Any ideas?

If you aren't going to be upgrading until August then any advice you get now will be out of date by then since we will have a bunch of new Android flagship phones coming out between now and then, and the next iPhone would only be a month away from release. Right now nobody knows how good stuff like the battery life or camera will be on any of those phones.

While I usually suggest Android (which works best for me), since you are a photographer, iPhone is the best way to go. Unless there's some major shift in Android phone cameras in the next 6-7 months, this will be true for quite a while. I think the 6 Plus is the best choice for you, as it has that 1080p screen which will be great for YT video watching and photo viewfinding, along with the size. I have the OnePlus One, which has the same screen size/resolution, and it's fine. I can manage it, and I'm 15. If you'll be doing any physical activity, like running or biking, you might want to through it into your coat pocket when it's cold and cargo pocket on your shorts when it's warm, as it's not that easy to move with the OPO and it's minimal bezels, let alone the 6 Plus's bezels that make it Nexus 6 sized.

Obviously like any normal person, I do not want a windows phone.

LOL, this made my day.

Though, the Lumia 1020 or 1520 or whatever new flagship that's coming out might be good for photography.

ONLY photography.

For photography, best phone is probably the Samsung K Zoom.
