So its pretty hot where i live, and lately my pc been getting really hot, even on idle.

My case is a Bitfenix Ronin and I have a H80i with the 2x 2500rpm stock fans for my cpu, 2x 1200rpm stock fans at the front and another 2 at the top.

I had my H80i in pulling air out of the pc and through the rear, and my front and top fans were pulling air into the pc, so basically the air was coming from the front and top and throughout the rear.

My CPU is a FX 8350 and i have a GTX 660ti.

With that setup I was getting CPU temps of 50-60C (sometimes in the 40s if im lucky) and the H80i temps would be in the 70s, then if i was watching something, like on youtube or twitch, the CPU temps would be in the 70s and the H80i temps would be in the 80s.

Then I tried switching it around, with the H80i fans pulling air into the PC and the top fans pulling the air out. But the results werent very different.

Am I doing anything wrong? Is there a better setup for air flow?

So basicaly you have 2 fans in front as intakes, 2 top as intakes and H80i in push/pull at the back?

Heat goes up so it makes no sense to have 2 top fans as intakes but even so those temps shouldnt be so high. Have you tried to replace thermal paste? Or maybe your CPU cooler block is not sitting well on your CPU.

Try front intake, and everything else as an exhaust. The higher the pressure inside your box, the higher the temperature. Adding more air would increase the pressure inside.

System:

Intel Core i5 4690k @ 3.5Ghz, MSI z97 PC Mate, Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 gaming, 4x2 Kingston HyperX blu 1600Mhz, 1 Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm, Corsair CX600M PSU, Corsair AF120 Performance edition 3x, Xigmatek Stock fans 3x, Xigmatek Mach PC Case, Asus VX239H 1080p IPS LED 23".

Is it possible that you removed your CPU once then you put it back in your motherboard without replacing the thermal paste, that happened to me once, I had no idea how that would affect the temp of my CPU. The next thing I know, my CPU temp goes above 80 degrees and shuts down automatically just by installing games.

If you have more exhausts than intakes it will just harm your temperatures. It will create negative pressure.

intakes > exhausts => good (not always, for example 5 intakes and only 1 exhaust makes no sense).

intakes = exhausts => ok

intakes < exhausts => bad

I'm no expert, but I'd have to disagree. The only way negative pressure could happen is if there's no intake at all. When you do that, air would rush in through the small holes of your case to compensate, because of that, dust build up happens, and it blocks the air intake completely. That's why I suggested the front intake so that the air will still flow throughout the case. Well, I might be wrong, that's just my opinion though.
