@Imakuni OMFG. Currently my system consumes 700+ watts at full load.

@Prastupok I said I have the PSU already. How can I blow money right now on something I got a year ago?

@CoolaxGaming I'm not referring to blowing money on the PSU, I'm referring to blowing money on the rest of the build.

And yes, your AMD powered system probably does consume 700w at load. But Nvidia and Intel are much more efficient with their power and heat.

I'm not trying to be rude... Just trying to prevent a case of buyer's remorse.

I hope you enjoy this system though.

If you went with Prastupok's build, which is where we suggest the smaller PSU, you'd consume about 350W.

If you went with a 700w build, then by all means, re-use the PSU. It'll be a good idea.

It's not so much what they are rated to consume... It's how they consume it.

I just have some questions like, why not upgrade your storage on this instead of Dual radiator watercool? And there are other Red or black boards for less. I suppose in my mind, because you'll be running 1080p, you don't need to OC, so some money could be saved by not watercooling now, you can always do more later.

I'll tell you what I already have on your previous post: that this build is way unnecessary for gaming. I own a core i7 2600, and I can tell you from personal experience, that you will not notice any multitasking is even happening. Ever. Sometimes I'll have 3 games, 18 browser tabs, an ongoing compression and vlc running in the background and everything is as seamless and snappy as if only one program was running. This is why I strongly suggest you rethink going x99. It's a large investment in a platform that will be soon outdated like every other platform and won't benefit you in any way. The motherboard is also completely, and utterly, pointless. There's no way, at all, you'll ever use all those features. If I were you, I'd go for a core i7 4790k and an asus z97-a, or any red/black motherboard in that price range if colour matters to you.

That said, if the above doesn't convince you, good luck with your build :)

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
