Insufficient PSU?

Hey Guys

 

I'm running a quasi pro recording studio set up on my pc, and Ive been having a problem with some of my hardware/software. I'm using an M-Audio Mobile Pre interface for ProTools, in addition to just using it as an outboard sound card. About 3 months back, I had a small power surge in my house, which trashed the 5.1 surround I was using for my system, as well as causing me another problem. Any time I attempted to put my pc to sleep or power it down, I would get a BSOD saying that I had some kind of hardware malfunction, and that my system was dumping to physical memory. I checked my ram, and every thing was good there. The only time I could get this problem to stop would be if I unplugged my Mobile Pre or disabled it manually within windows. I've tried to roll back/repair the driver software for the device, and nothing seemed to stick, until I plugged the device into a an externally powered USB hub. 

 

I do have a few other USB devices running on my system, namely a Belkin n52te (the original nostromo) a razer lachesis and the razer blackwidow ultimate.

 

Could my problem simply be that the brief power surge damaged my PSU and it's not able to provide the power needed to my Mobile Pre during shutdown? Or is it probable that my issue is deeper than that, and this is the only currently existing symptom? 

 

I'm not recieving BSOD's at any other time.

 

PSU is an  Antec HIgh Current Gamer 450w

You have another PSU to test?

Sadly no. I've tried google searching both the problem, and my surmise based on my solution and neither gave me any sort of concrete results.

Antec High Current Gamer 520w. (Stated that incorrectly in the first post) The 450 is in my fiance's comp and works fine.
