Hey guys, I hope you could help me here, while i was at i53, i saw a custom water cooling loop that had both white and orange coolant in a single tube, it was not mixing together, but staying separate and slushing around. im wondering if you know how i get two different colors not to mix.

One water based and one oil based should work.

Oil and Water doesnt mix easily.

Be careful about what oil you use though. Some will eat through the rubber tubing, or destroy your pump.

The projects never end in my line of work.

As cool as it probably looks, using distilled water and some silver in your reservoir is the best way to do it. Function over form when it comes to your component's safety.

And you can always get nice UV tubing or something.

@JacobKorea

Are you sure that it was a single loop and not two separate loops? If it was a single loop then it would just mix together. No matter how I look at it...

The flow would just be too great for the two colors to be separate.

Always wanted to ask: how ofter silver needs to be changed? I suppose, it might react with 'bio stuff' in water, so...

Using biocide, maybe gonna switch to a kill coil.

I change mine every 90 days... Simply because my rig can't afford downtime. How often it must be changed? No idea sadly.

In the middle ages people used silver as a dish, because it's getting darker, when contacted with poison.

That's why I thought, that kill coil must be changed once it got darker.

Will probably stay with biocide.
