Cannoct connect: disconnected from server. HELP!

Hi!

I'm making a minecraft server, I can join it with no problems. But my friends get the message: Cannot connect: disconnected. Why is that?

I've set online mode to false (meaning that players that haven't purchased minecraft should be able to join). And they should use my public ip to get in the server. Why I try that I get in.

What I've tried: using hamachi, trying with different ips, disabling firewall. I can join via my public ip (84.something) and hamachi ip (25.something). I can join with both but my friends can't. What else can I do?

Thanks

Also, open the port in the windows firewall:

Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Advanced Settings -> Inbound Rules -> New Rule -> Port

Although windows should have displayed you a pop-up asking whether to allow or not an specific application, you can always create a port based rule that will ensure the traffic is accepted

Then, if the port is open there is only one thing I remember. In the server config file, there was an option to specify the servers IP. I remember I had to tweak that option because it was only accepting connections in the loopback interface

@Razhan I left the server ip blank since there is no need for it to have an ip. That option is used when you run multiple servers off 1 ip

Then I'm afraid it won't be easy to track. You can try running wireshark or network monitor on your computer and check if you can see your friends incoming traffic (both programs should allow a filter like: tcp.port == 25565

Also, try with a Minecraft copy that will pass validation

If everything fails, you can try to use Hamachi

@Razhan, tried using hamachi, no success...

For both: my friends don't need to port forward, do they?

Put your internal IP (192.168.1.xxx)... sometimes it doesn't work leaving it in blank (127.0.0.1/localhost)

''Put your internal IP...'' put it where? in the direct join box? And that ''(127.0.0.1/localhost)'' thing-what is that? what should I do with it?

can you ping to the minecraft server? also if you have a virus scanner disable that during playing on the server.

How can I check that? I can join my own server, yesy but my friends can't

then you're system is not allowing you're friends to join your server it has to be a virus scanner or a firewall problem. disable firewall and virus scanners.

and also do you're friends have the ip of the server? if yes give the ip in a pm i will ping the system.

I meant the server.properties file... and 127.0.0.1 Is the ip it'll use if you leave it in blank, just ignore it and put the internal IP in the file

so I should type in my ipv4 adress in the server box field? (192.168.xxx.xxx)

then you're system is not allowing you're friends to join your server it has to be a virus scanner or a firewall problem. disable firewall and virus scanners.

we tried disabling our firewalls and anti virus scanners. yes they do. What will that ping accomplish?
