Help/suggestions With/for a PSU please?

Go to solution Solved by quan289,

It typically only necessary the be plugged in if you are going to overclock it to the extreme level. A 8-Pin connector is already sufficient. Here's a discussion on it: http://www.overclock.net/t/1325252/need-help-with-asus-crosshair-v-formula-z-am3

If by some off-chance that it isn't, then there are PSUs out there that have native connectivity for dual 8-pins as well.

I'm assuming you want full modularity. The NZXT Hale90v2 850w has dual 4+4 connectors.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116020

Corsair AX860 has dual 4+4 pins: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139044

Seasonic has a single 8 pin with another 4+4 pin connector: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151102

If you want to go overkill and have it match that red and black mobo, there's the EVGA SuperNova 1000G2 http://www.amazon.com/computers-accessories/dp/B00CGYCNG2

Hello, I need a power supply to do my build well. I want a fully modular PSU that is above 800W. but the problem is... my motherboard (Asus Crosshair v formula-z) requires a 24pin, 8pin and a 4pin cpu connector. I can't find any power supplies that have all three. I really wanted the XFX Pro 1000W, it was perfect but now I'm getting a brainache because I've no clue what to do. the whole question is: is there a way to make the XFX 1000W Pro work with this OR any suggestions for another (preferably black [because I got a window in my case]) PSU? thank you for your time.

Sorry for the TERRIBLE photos.

What are you powering?

There's are plenty of PSUs that has dual 4+4 pin CPU connectors, including the XFX.

Just an FYI, unless you really going to overclock that CPU hard, you don't necessary need to plug in that second 4pin connector.
