Will add 4x5TB WD Red's later on in the year when I can afford to buy 4 of them at the same time. Right now I just want to get it up and running as a PC.

 

not looking at using FreeNAS, and i'll probably add a RAID 10 card.

 

Can I use the SATA ports on the mobo, and the ones on the RAID card at the same time?

 

I'd use the WD Reds on the RAID card, then break down two existing NAS WD Mybooklive drives I have and throw them in too
