First forgive me as I am typing this on my phone and I'll edit this when I get on my computer.

After finally replacing all of my fans and wanting my Rig to be quiet there was always a noise and then found out that its my power supply. My specs are in my sig. Now I want to replace my power supply as its the loudest part of my rig. My budget is 150 but I want to keep it around 100. I would like it to be modular and quiet.

Again sorry if its hard to read since I'm on my phone. Ill clean it up when I get back on my computer.

What are the specs of your rig?

for your rig around 550w is what you want, enough to power it and even more headroom for future upgrades

Good semi-modular unit as I don't see the point of spending more $ for a fully modular one, you will need all the cables attached to it anyway, I have it and it is pretty quiet.

or this

or you can check out newegg deals and get something bigger if you can find it for cheaper than it usually is

That G series looks perfect for me but sadly I thought that I was going to be able to order it right away but looks like I'll have to wait a little. Since you do have this do you have any coil whine with it?

Here's my post regarding coil whine: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/30495-will-a-too-overkill-psu-hurt-itself/?p=390961

The Seasonic G 550w was a rather quiet as well it seems at Kitguru testing. The BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro 10 yield a little better result where it operating at 28dBA across at all loads, while the SS G was at 28dBA to 33.2dBA (it got slightly louder the load went up). It should be good, unless you are very sensitive to noise.

Well nothing so far, I have it for a week  so can't say anything yet about coil whine :/ you might want to research about that

The G series also gets top scoring from jonnnyguru. I'd say wait for it and get it, perfect choice for your setup, nothing more needed imo, and you save some bucks.

Also the 8 pin connector seems to fit perfectly with my define r4, heard of ppl having trouble with bigger cases because its somehow short(Linus used this same psu and case for one of his build guides too).

The CORSAIR HX series HX650 Gold is a good choice for your psu. Open spins up when more than 40% load:1e89ed03-c352-4572-9072-ab05d4e215ff.gif
