Which display to get?

I'm looking for something to replace my old LG 23inch 1080 display.

My rig is 4690k 16gb ram gtx 970.

 

I play mostly racing games and a fps here and there. Are either of these good?

The 4k is only about $100 more is that worth it? Do you think my rig can even do it justice?

No. A single 970 will struggle at 4K. Consider an ultrawide monitor?

I would certainly agree with your ultra wide recommendation for racing games...

21:9 is the way to go :D Acer has a nice 21:9 monitor. Can't think of the name of it right now though
