Windows 10 keys?

Has Microsoft released anymore news about windows 7 and 8 users getting windows 10 and do any of you know how it would work? Would we convert our windows keys into a windows 10 key or would they just give us a windows 10 key. I plan on getting a SSD soon and will probability boot windows 10 on it when it is released and keep windows 8.1 on my main hard drive.

I would assume that when it happens we would be offered a free upgrade key like with Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. It will probably be a Microsoft email with the download and key. Not sure how they go about determining who has the appropriate system to give this to them but I would imagine they will tell us before they officially release the OS.

I'm assuming the current key will just transfer. That's what happened to Windows 8.1 users who upgraded from 8 for free.

Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise will not be eligible for the free upgrade, according to Microsoft. The enterprise versions of the software are designed for organizations rather than individual users.

"Active Software Assurance customers will continue to have rights to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer -- while also benefiting from the full flexibility to deploy Windows 10 using their existing management infrastructure," the company said.

The free upgrade will still extend to "hundreds of millions of customers" around the world, according to Microsoft.



Pretty much yeah your Windows OS key will become a Windows 10 key. Unless you have Enterprise.

Yeah, that would make sense I guess we just have to wait and see.

Do you think it would a optional update pushed directly onto your computer like they did with windows 8 to 8.1.

Yeah,  I see why they are not letting Enterprise keys be upgraded. If they did Microsoft would not make a ton a cash from company's that would be looking to upgrade.
