Ideas on formatting HDD (help please)

Go to solution Solved by Griffscavern,

Never mind. I think I just realized that windows is completely installed by the time I get to that step. It's just not through the personalize part before I put in the computer name and set up the first user account.

Thank you for your responses. Tmlhalo I already printed up the full manual for the mobo that you shared. Glad I have a printer that works wirelessly and an app for my phone that allows me to print to it.

OK here is my dilemma. I am going to be building a new system. I have no computer or access to any at the moment. I will have an ssd for the os. I will have an hdd or 2 (if I decide to go with a raid 0 setup). There is a step I want to take to move the users folder to my HDDs or HDD if I don't do raid. It can be done after installing is to ssd or before the complete install is done. See link below.

I want the HDD(s) to be prepped for the step to move the users folder over before the os is installed.

How do I preformat (not partition) the HDD(s) so that it is ready for this? I hope I explained it well enough. Using my phone for forums sucks!!!

Thanks in advance

First of all I wouldn't recommend raid 0 for HDD's but, whatever. Second of all, are you asking how to format the drives? If you are you can simply right click the drive and format it when its plugged in on  windows and set up said setup. (Whether thats just 2 drives, 1 drive, 2 drives Raid 0,1,2,3,4,5 56, whatever.)

I don't have a computer at the moment. There will be no os installed I want to preformat the HDD(s) before the step is taken in the link above to move users folder to HDD. The step is done before windows 8.1 is completely installed on ssd.
