my best friend actually. hes 16 and paying all himself, he does video work and needs something that will render faster then his macbook pro. and its actually a 7950 and a 7970, so its a hella lot of openGL power.

Its impressive because hes self made, all the money is coming from his video work. It will be another 2 months before he buys it, but hes locked in and put down a deposit.

all I have to say is though, focus on the postives. I point out that it was 700$ worth of just gpus 6 months ago. and that fact that I can play any game maxed out at 60 fps, with just using one card doesnt hurt either. even though I paid 200$ combined for both cards.

all in all, I have 900ish into the system. so its kinda a steal, but he needs something already built. and you cant touch that perfomance with any prebuilt. so in his mind hes saving a lot of money. that and it looks all sexy because its in a s340, and that case has amazing cable managment.

Yeah - friends and customers are the best people to sell to. I'm trying to sell on eBay and CL and its a pain in the ass.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

selling to people you know is the best. Being able to provide tech support is a huge selling point. Like my buddy is decent with computers. But crossfire can lead to a bunch of issues still, so its nice knowing I live just a mile away. A big thing also is to just part it out. sometimes that gets you far more. never build a rig with the intent to sell unless its for a specific customer.

also with my friends, I do a trade up program. We swap and sell each other hardware all the time, so like I can sell my hd 7770 for 100, and buy a 7970 for 140. then like right now, I could sell my 7970 for 120ish, and get a 290 for 200ish, so the upgrade only costed me 80 bucks. then hed pass his old card down and so on.

edit: im also a bad person who rips off his friends. selling a I3 laptop for 350$ to a different friend. its worth like 200 maybe.
